While the little things can make us happy in the moment, it’s important to remember that instant gratification doesn’t lead to lasting joy. Try to find a balance between treating yourself in the moment, and building lasting habits that can empower you.

Studies show that women who exercise regularly, get sufficient sleep, and find satisfaction in their life have less depression, anxiety, and other physical illnesses like heart disease. Activities like consistent exercise, eating a balanced diet, or sleeping are ways to self-care that are directly related to your body’s health.

Similarly to your physical health, finding activities that improve your mental health is also important.
