Individualized Education

As a student at Don Roberts School of Hair Design, you can expect to receive individualized attention from experienced educators. Along with learning theory in the classroom, students can work one-on-one with guests* to receive the hands-on training they need.

CHI School Program

We know that to prepare for a career in barbering, you need to work with a great line of products. Don Roberts School of Hair Design is a CHI school, which means you can expect to work with professional hair products and tools throughout your education. From shampoo and conditioner to clippers and shears, we want our students to develop their skills using high-quality products.

What Financial Aid Options Are Available?

We offer financial aid to those who qualify. The financial aid programs we offer include:

Institutional Choice Scholarship
Pell and SEOG Grants
Direct Student Loans, Subsidized and Unsubsidized
Parent Plus Loans

We are also approved by the Veterans Administration* and Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation. Applicants who are approved by these agencies can use the benefits for educational expenses.

When And How Can I Find Employment?

There is no charge for DR alumni employment referrals.

We have successfully placed many graduates in the past and continue to offer career resources for future graduates. During the last 20% of the program, you can participate in interviews, internships, and off-campus job shadowing.

We are connected with several employers in the area who want to hire qualified graduates. Our staff also connects with all alumni, for both the verification of employment and for networking opportunities for graduates.

Students who benefit from the Choice Scholarship program (by maintaining a 95% GPA) can receive their license prior to graduation can become employed while still in school.

Since I had the cosmetology curriculum fresh in my brain, I was then able to crossover 900 hours from the cosmetology program and into the barber’s crossover program and then only had to complete 600 hours for the barbering program. At a more accelerated rate, I was then able to pass my state test for barbering. The crossover program was such a great way to fast-track my learning path.
